Ordering products - UK and EU

To place an order, or for further details, please write, ring, fax or email us.

We can take Visa, Mastercard/Access, Delta, Switch, Solo, Electron, Building Society cheques & bank drafts, postal orders (goods despatched on receipt of order), and personal/company cheques (goods despatched on cheque clearance - allow up to 7 working days). We even take cash on special occasions!

Sorry but we have to make a 3% surcharge on credit card purchases (but not on debit card purchases) as this is fairer than raising the prices for everyone.

For details of current packing, carriage and insurance costs and delivery times please look at our UK & EU carriage costs. If you live outside the EU click please read the page Non-EU Orders (accessed via the main ordering index) for further information.

UK and EU orders

Product prices exclude our standard insured next day carriage (2/3 day for Europe) which starts at just 3.00UKP for next day delivery and depends on the weight and value of your order. Guidelines for for the most common purchases are given below.

For other combinations of products or multiple units please ring/fax/email for further details.

All non-UK orders are despatched on net cleared funds. Credit/Debit card purchases must be authorised in writing (by post or fax), have full card details including name on the card and expiry date, the card's registered address (which must also be the delivery address) and a signature to authorise the transaction/confirm the accuracy of the details.

Note that UK clearing banks charge on average UKP17.50 to clear a direct bank transfer, or to clear a cheque which IS made out in UKP from outside the UK where the cheque is NOT drawn on a UK branch of a UK clearing bank. This amount must therfore be added to the funds you transfer so that we receive the full purchase price. Funds can also take up to 2 months to clear if presented on a local currency (ie not UKP) cheque.

If you wish to use a wire transfer you MUST make sure that your bank specifies that it (ie you) are going to pay all clearance charges at both ends. This minimises the overall cost to you.

Credit card transactions are undoubtedly the easiest and quickest to use and administer. The credit card clearing companies use the money market exchange rates on day of the transaction (not the tourist rates) and don't charge for conversion so it often works out to be the cheapest form of payment overall.

You can always send UK currency using Swiftair International Registered post - it takes 3-5 days and is insured up to UKP500 for (UK prices) UKP3.80 or to UKP2200 for UKP4.50 over the regular airmail costs (around UKP1.00).

As a guide the current exchange rates are currently approximately:
